When Do You Need a Plumber for a Toilet?

Problems with a toilet may seem simple enough to fix. But many times, plumbing problems impacting your toilet need professional attention. You may think that you are fixing a problem by making an adjustment or replacing one of the components, but more work really needs to be done.

We are highlighting four times when you need to call our team of experts for toilet plumbing in Ambler, PA. You can also keep reading to learn more about why these problems require the help of a professional instead of a DIY solution.

Continuous Clogs

It’s normal to have a toilet clog from time to time. However, if it seems like you are constantly having to plunge a toilet, there may be something else going on. Either a persistent clog is preventing you from being able to flush, or something is wrong with your toilet setup.

Our team can investigate to either break down the tough clog and get things moving again or fix whatever structural problem is wrong with your toilet. Keep in mind that if persistent clogs are due to items being flushed that should not be in your toilet, you’ll need to address those issues to prevent clogs from happening again.

Water Backing Up

If water backs up into your sinks or tubs when you flush the toilet, this is a major problem. There may be a clog somewhere deeper in your system that is preventing water from draining out the way it needs to. As a result, water backs up into the nearest drains before eventually draining back down slowly.

Your toilet may flush just fine without any issues, but water backing up into your sink or tub for absolutely any reason should be considered a red flag. Even if it seems like it’s not that big of an inconvenience, the germs and odors from the sewage could be wafting up into your home.

Our team will need to take a look deeper at your plumbing system to figure out what is going on. There may be a sewer or septic tank problem or something like a tree root growing through a pipe that is causing problems.

Lack of Water

You should also give us a call if it seems like your toilet never has enough water to flush correctly. You can try making adjustments to the device located inside your toilet tank. Sometimes, if the float is set too low, it will prevent the tank from filling up enough. However, if you make an adjustment and still don’t see a difference, something else may be going on.

Our team can troubleshoot your toilet to determine the problem. In some cases, we may need to replace the toilet entirely, especially if it is older. But no matter what the problem is, we can discuss your options for addressing it.
